Lite-On Technology and Lite-On IT Extends LED Lighting Business in American Market

Although Lite-On Technology's LED lighting components in 2012 benefited from the strong demand of brand customers, its annual growth in revenue increased nearly three times, but Guangzhong Chen, president of Lite-On Technology, said on June 18 that the current performance of LED business is still not satisfied, and Lite-On will actively expand plants this year, the overall production capacity of LED is expected to grow 20% to 50% over last year, also Lite-On IT recently merged into Lite-On Technology will access to the LED lighting terminal market, and they will focus on the U.S. market with less Taiwan factories. Lite-On Technology also has been competing for the leading position in the LED lighting market.

Guangzhong Chen stressed that LED general lighting market is rapidly developing; Lite-On Technology will add Lite-On IT into the rank of mass production to gain market share in general illumination. Lite-On Group will make more complete division of labor in the LED lighting, Lite-On Technology is expected to be responsible for the production of LED packaging and module products, its Leotek Electronics specializes in LED Street light, DunYoung is responsible for automotive LED, while Lite-On IT focuses on the general lighting market.

Lite-On Technology can produce 1.5 billion units of LED packaging components in one month, only second to Everlight with monthly output of about 2.4 billion in Taiwan.
