Rubicon Technology Announces Proposed Public Offering of Common Stock

Rubicon Technology, Inc., a leading provider of sapphire substrates and products to the LED, semiconductor and optical markets, announced the commencement of an underwritten public offering of shares of its common stock by selling stockholders. The offering is subject to customary conditions and there can be no assurance as to whether or when the offering may be completed, or as to the actual size or terms of the offering. In addition, Rubicon expects to grant the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 15 percent of the shares of its common stock offered in the public offering to cover over-allotments, if any. 

Canaccord Genuity Inc. is acting as sole book-running manager for the offering. Rubicon will not receive any proceeds from the sale of common stock by selling stockholders.
