Wavien Launches Its Hard-Edge LED Spot Light

Wavien recently launched its hard-edge LED spot light (TruSpot), which using its patented Recycling Light Technology (RLT) to produce an exceptionally clean and sharp edge profile. However, on the current market, most medium base “spot lights” are actually narrow beam flood lights that produce undefined soft edges, diminishing the highlighting effect.

The TruSpot LED lamp provides a true spot light effect without the cost of custom spot light fixtures and installations. It is also designed to accept GOBO image slides in order to be used to project advertising images.

Traditional light collection optics cannot increase LED brightness and are also not efficient for spot light applications. “By recovering unused high angle light from the LED, Wavien's RLT can provide it with outstanding brightness. This recycling technique is a benefit for a variety of applications, such as the TruSpot spot light," said Dr. Kenneth Li, President and CEO of Wavien, Inc., the inventor of the recycling technology. Dr. Li added: "The additional function mentioned above of the TruSpot light bulb is a breakthrough in the lighting industry. The TruSpot offers real spot light performance without the cost of custom configurations.”

This LED recycling technique is also being applied to many other areas of illumination including consumer projectors and medical light sources.
