Diodes Incorporated has designed the SBR1U400P1 super barrier rectifier to increase the efficiency of off-line LED drivers. It can be used in LED light bulbs, lighting ballasts, signage and street lighting. The SBR1U400P1 super barrier rectifier features a forward voltage some 25% lower than standard p-n diode alternatives. This 1A, 400V rated part suits both bridge, with a 120VAC input, and buck stages of driver circuits.

ON Semiconductor has launched a new one-channel Quad-Mode(TM) LED Driver, the CAT3661. With a patented architecture and integrates fault protection and fault diagnostics, the CAT3661 is designed to be used in ultra low power LED applications such as portable handheld medical equipment powered by coin cell batteries with a current of up to 5 mA.

The Dolby PRM-4200 professional reference monitor has used OSRAM Opto Semiconductors' Ceramos MultiLED devices.   OSRAM's 1,536 RGB LED's blue, green and red chips are positioned so that the color combination exhibits the same appearance when viewed from various angles.

They are available in four screen sizes (37", 32", 22" and 19"),the 2 smaller sizes come with a built-in iPod dock, while the 2 larger come with Panasonic's own Viera Cast service (complete with Skype).

Carmanah Technologies Corporation has supplied 52 solar LED flashing beacons to the City of Bethany, Oklahoma to improve the safety of the City's district school zones. And these beacons will be sold by local Carmanah distributor, Gades Sales Inc..   According to Carmanah, the R829 solar LED flashing beacon is designed specifically for school zone applications and features wireless communication between beacons, an easy-to-use calendar program for activation, and maintenance-free operation for up to five years.

Toshiba launched new Cinema Series for 2010 includes the WX800 line of 3D LED HDTVs. The WX800 3D series is compatible with Blu-ray 3D specifications, and requires 3D glasses manufactured by Toshiba. They are available in 55-inch and 46-inch sizes and Toshiba boasts the line as their "most meticulously designed and engineered [HDTV] to date."

Sensor Electronic Technology, Inc.(SETI) has received a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase II award which is worth of  $475,000 from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to develop water disinfection units based on solid state deep ultraviolet LEDs. According to the SBIR program, SETI will design, develop, fabricate and demonstrate advanced all-LED water treatment units with reduced power consumption and extended reliability.

Future Electronics has cooperated with Montreal-based McGill University in student engineering projects, which relates to four lighting and renewable energy projects designed by 41 engineering students as part of their senior-year course requirements.   One of the projects won the Mechanical Engineering department's annual Harry Pearce Prize used 48 neutral white LUXEON® Rebel LEDs to illuminate an underground train station platform.

Acer has unveiled AT58 LED TV series with Pininfarina design. The new TVs are equipped with backlit LED panels, features slightly curved edges, ultra-thin profile and transparent frame with the logo designed by Pininfarina and the lustrous platform and they also allows energy saving of 68% compared with the traditional LCD monitors.

BenQ launched 16:9 full HD VA-panel LED monitors, the 24-inch - EW2420 and VW2420 LED's and the 21.5 inch VW2220. Compared to a regular Twisted Nematic (TN) panel before notable brightness and color shifts, the monitors offer wider viewing angle (178º/178º), so they can be used along more angles.   The EW and VW series also feature true 3,000:1 native contrast ratio on a true 8-bit panel.

Bridgelux has expanded its LED Arrays to meet the price and performance demands of the $10 billion LED retrofit bulb market opportunity.   The Bridgelux LS Array Series includes options designed for low voltage lighting. They enable both diffuse and directional light sources, and are suit for landscape lighting, residential lighting, track lighting, MR16 lamps and other 12 volt retrofit light bulbs, delivering between 240 and 360 lumens in warm and cool white.  

German Bayer MaterialScience has designed a 1.5-mm-thick Makrolon FR7067 polycarbonate plastic for LED lenses, which can meet the UL-94 V0 ratings for flame-retardant characteristic at half the thickness of most polycarbonate lenses. And it's thought that Lenses made with this material can improve light transmission efficiency to almost 90%.

Seoul Semiconductor's Acriche A3 AC LED is supporting ZEBRAlliance's project to boost the energy efficiency of residential lighting.

Diodes Incorporated has designed an LED driver AL8805 which operates at between 6V and 30V.

American Energy Smart Industry introduces better innovative LED lighting for residential and offices to improve the lighting and save money. These LED lights, includes Vision HB 1000X which is apt for large spaces like gyms, warehouses and other such places. And Vision ML–60 X are prepared for offices .

American Autocue, the home of QTV teleprompters, will exhibit a range of LED and softbox lighting kits and its first ever tripod at IBC 2010. It's said that Autocue's dimmable 1000 and 500 LED lights ($749 and $399 respectively) and stands ($49) can be used in any combination to make up the ideal entry-level lighting kit. For softer lighting, there is a 3-head softbox lighting kit including case and 12 fluorescent bulbs for $249. There is also an on-camera, 120 LED light, ideal for mobile shoots, for $149.

Japanese Mitsubishi Electric Corporation will introduce world's first, large-scale display OLED system "Diamond Vision OLED".   This screen jointly developed between Mitsubishi Electric and Tohoku Pioneer Corporation, used Mitsubishi Electric's newly developed video controlling technology, and designed for indoor use.

German ARRI will introduce focusable LED-based lampheads with a true Fresnel light field at IBC 2010. ARRI's tungsten Fresnel lights are workhorses of the industry and relied upon by lighting designers the world over. By combining the cool-burning, energy-efficient advantages of LED illumination with the controllable versatility of traditional Fresnel fixtures, ARRI has taken the best of both worlds and created a truly revolutionary lamphead.

TESS (topco energy saving system corp.), recently made another breakthrough in upgrading luminous efficiency for LED lighting - the company announces its new product, a 12.5 watt LED bulb delivers 1400 lumen. TESS set the highest luminous efficiency of 100lm/W this April by releasing 10 watt 1000 lumen LED bulb; yet, within 5 months, TESS set a higher standard of 112lm/W for LED lighting industry.

Cree has announced that more than 80,000 Cree LRP-38 spotlights will highlight merchandise in hundreds of The Furniture Row Companies retail stores nationwide.

EdgeDiveTech has designed two new products- the Edge Ultra100 and the Edge Ultra200 to lit up the undersea world . The Edge Ultra100 is a single canister light, which provides 9,000 lumens of light with its 80 degree angle. In addition, it has a burn time of 2 hours, is rated to a depth of 500ft (152m) and features wet connections between light head and canister, making it possible to change battery canisters underwater.

Hi Score has completed the replacement of approximately 3,500 T8 fluorescent tubes with the EcoGreenBulb T5 Retrofit System at the second stage of the conversion of the Ocean Four Condominium Towers in Sunny Isles.   The conversion began in October 2009 with the replacing of over 1,000 traditional halogen light bulbs to 6W LED bulbs. And the conversion is saving Ocean Four approximately 40% off this part of their light bill.
