On Dec 17, the City of St. Catharines, which sits in Southern Ontario, Canada, is switching its high- pressure sodium streetlights to energy efficient LED ones, reported CKTB.

Telensa, which provides end-to-end smart city solutions using its low power Ultra Narrow Band (UNB) wireless technology, has announced that work has begun on a major new deployment which will cover 55,000 LED streetlights over approximately 1,000 sq. miles across Gloucestershire, UK. LED A-line lamps posted another strong showing in 2015Q3, surging 237.2% during the quarter on a year-over-year basis. Halogen A-line lamps posted a year-over-year increase of 33.0%. In contrast, incandescent A-line lamps decreased by 31.5% while compact fluorescents lamps (CFL) dropped 28.0 percent.
