Taiwanese LED package manufacturer Ledtech recently released their fiscal 2013 financial report. The company benefited from strong growth in profit margin in both their Chinese white household product and lighting product business, which drove up revenue in 2013.

Taiwan has seen an uptick in LED street light replacement activity as of late. Last year, around 25,000 street lights were replaced during a street light replacement project across five major cities in Taiwan. Taiwanese LED chip manufacturer Genesis Photonics Inc. (GPI) has released their fiscal 2013 financial report. Revenue in 4Q13 benefited from introduction of flip-chips into street lights, lifting the company out of eight consecutive quarters of losses. In addition, improvements to product portfolio have drove up profit margin. 

The LUXEON 3535 2D has increased its typical flux output by 10%, delivering optimized performance in combination with the Quality of Light needed for distributed light source applications. Specifically, for LUXEON 3535 2D 2700K 90 CRI parts, typical flux levels have increased from 55 lumens to 61 lumens. Simultaneously, typical voltage has been lowered—resulting in an efficacy increase of more than 10%. This increase in performance will drive the adoption of LED lighting for consumer bulbs, by providing the color quality to which consumers are accustomed with their lamps.

Samsung Electronics announced it will launch a range of LED lamp solutions at Light + Building 2014, the world’s leading trade fair for architecture and technology, taking place in Frankfurt, Germany from 30 March to 4 April 2014. The new models are a lighter and more efficient PAR-series, lamps with a swivel-head PAR, a decorative classic design LED lamp, and an L-tube series with ECG and CCG compatibility.
