Light+Building 2014 was a huge success for Osram, where they showcased their newest innovations, products, and range of services. After the expo concluded, Osram conducted an interview with Dr. Peter Laier, Member of the Board, CTO about the markets transition into the digital era. 

Emerging developments in the LED lighting industry has led to major Chinese, Taiwanese, Korean, American and European manufacturers expanded production capacity, as companies aim to gain larger market share. Taiwanese LED manufacturer Edison Opto, which focuses on LED components, has an optimistic outlook for the Plastic Leaded Chip Carrier (PLCC LED) and COB application market.

Creating comfort through light in an office environment is an important design aspect for lighting manufacturers. Designing anti-glare and flicker free lighting is an area all manufactures can agree on. Exterior appearance, however, is where it differs. 

In the outdoor lighting sector, manufacturers mostly emphasized luminous efficacy and light shape, due to advancements in LED technology and luminous efficacy at Light+Building 2014 that took place from March 31 to April 4, 2014 at Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Center in Germany.

Light measurement equipment manufacturers from around the world gathered at this year’s Light+Building in Frankfurt, Germany. A few of the large manufacturers in attendance included German companies LMT and Instrument Systems, American LabSphere, and Chinese comapny EVERFINE. Companies showcased their many new innovative products, including integration spheres, goniometers, spectrometeres, and more. 

Taiwan LED manufacturers were very active at this year’s Light+Building 2014 show that took place in Frankfurt, Germany last week. The main theme of Taiwanese manufacturers at the show was LED technology. Some major technology highlights included flip chip LED, Alternating Current (AC) Driver-on-Board (DoB) Chip-on-Board (COB) modules.

China has been a major player on the global stage for quite some time. It therefore comes as no surprise that the country’s many lighting manufacturers would be at the Light+Building 2014 show organized by Messe Frankfurt in full force last week. 

Smart lighting has become the trump card  for manufactures who want to give themselves an edge in the market. Large manufacturers including Philips, Osram, Samsung, and LG all showcased their newest smart lighting products at Light+Building 2014. The idea that anything is possible through smart lighting was evident at this year’s exhibition in Frankfurt. 

Korean manufacturers including Samsung, LG, Seoul Semiconductor, Woree and Lumens were huddled in Hall 6 of Light + Building 2014 show that recently took place in Frankfurt, Germany. These Korean manufacturers displayed their latest LED packages, LED smart controllers, and new OLED products.

Renowned Austrian luminaire designer and manufacturer, Zumtobel, focused on everyday office lighting, shop and retail applications at the six-day Light+Building 2014 show, which kicked off at Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Center in Germany on March 31, 2014.

The biennial Light+Building trade fair in Frankfurt is the largest global lighting exhibition. The six day long fair opened on March 30th and will run till April 4th, 2014.Similar to 2012, the lighting exhibition is categorized into different topics, which include outdoor lighting, lighting fixtures, modules, and innovative LED technology. 

Situated in Hall 11 of Light+Building 2014, the main theme of Siemens booth was “Power up your building efficiency.” The company displayed different building energy management systems at the lighting show that runs from March 31-April 4 in Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Center in Germany.

Philips presented its smart Hue bulb range, OLED panels, and various mart lighting technologies at at Light +Building 2014, which runs from March 31 to April 4, 2014 at Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Center in Frankfurt, Germany.LEDinside Research Director Roger Chu noted while the lighting giant’s booth was less impressive than last year the company was sending a clear message to consumers with its product portfolio choice. “Philips product portfolio showcased this year sends a clear message to consumers about the company’s ambition in presenting future lighting technologies,” said Chu.

An Osram research team has succeeded in constructing the most efficient LED lamp in the world. The lamp in tubular form consumes only half the power of currently common fluorescent and LED tubes, and also achieves significantly superior colour rendering. 

Samsung Electronics announced it will launch a range of LED lamp solutions at Light + Building 2014, the world’s leading trade fair for architecture and technology, taking place in Frankfurt, Germany from 30 March to 4 April 2014. The new models are a lighter and more efficient PAR-series, lamps with a swivel-head PAR, a decorative classic design LED lamp, and an L-tube series with ECG and CCG compatibility.

Bridgelux, a leading developer and manufacturer of LED lighting technologies and solutions, unveiled the Bridgelux Outdoor Lighting Module (OLM); a new line of LED sub-systems which integrates optics, environmental protection and the LED source for roadways, parking garages and other outdoor and industrial applications. OLM will allow manufacturers to rapidly expand their product lines while lowering costs.

Taiwanese LED lighting manufacturer Edison Opto will participate in the world’s leading trade fair for lighting and intelligent buildings. To answer this high profile lighting event, the chairman of Edison Opto, Mr. Jason Wu, will lead their sales and R&D team to attend this trade fair in person and showcase their latest LED products (from components, modules to high/low bay).   

Sumitomo Chemical will exhibit its polymer OLED lighting at “Light+Building 2014,” one of the world’s largest trade fairs for lighting and building technology, to be held in Frankfurt, Germany, from March 30 to April 4, 2014.
