Most Taiwan LED makers August revenues become lower than last month

As Inventory adjustments by panel makers and lower inventory of CCFL panels and CCFL TVs, most Taiwan LED packagers, chipmakers August revenues become lower than last month.

LED chip packaging Unity Opto Technology August revenues slip 4.6% but up 58% on year to NT$670 million (US$20.979 million). The total income in 2010 until August 31 reached NT$4.62 billion, which more NT$4 billion than the whole 2009.

A responsible person of Unity Opto noted, In spite of the lower Q3 income, the Q4 revenues would increase, because some company is cleaning inventory new LED TV models would be put on the market, with the promotion smartphones and LED lighting orders adding.

Everlight Electronics got NT$1.632 billion in August revenues and slipped 5.6% but added 46.11% from 2009. The total income in 2010 until August 31 reached NT$11.403 billion up 69.16% on year.

Formosa Epitaxy August revenues gained NT$501 million, down 6.67% but up123.52% on year, and the total income in 2010 until August 31 came to NT$3.133 billion. The company hoped LED lighting applications is one time to contribution income than last month.

Lextar's August revenues reached NT$911 million, down 2% but up 218% from last month. And the total income in 2010 until August 31 gained NT$5.528 billion.
