Seoul Semiconductor's LED applies to the 'Oasis of the Sea' which is the biggest cruise in the world

Seoul Semiconductor, a world leading LED manufacturer, has announced that its LED products were selected for the external balcony lights of 'Oasis of the Seas' , the world's largest and most innovative cruise liner, which made its inaugural voyage on 5 December 2009.

Seoul Semiconductor's LED products were supplied to all balconies of cabins in 'the Oasis of the Seas' through a British lighting specialist company that made lighting fixtures for the balconies in high-quality cruise ships. The 'Cruise Balcony Light' only consumes 4.5 Watts using three of Seoul Semiconductor's LEDs, which its energy efficiency is 10 times higher than halogen lamps. And the light of Balcony Cruise light doesn't invade into cabins. So, it is the right product that can reduce the power consumption of the cruise ship.

Seoul Semiconductor's LED products combined with its phosphor technology and packaging capacity improve luminous efficiency, reliability and its products offer excellent luminous efficacy (100lm/W) from a single light source.

With the cruise lights supplied to 'the Oasis of the Seas' for the first time, Seoul Semiconductor announced that the Balcony Cruise lights will be installed for 'Allure of the Seas,' sister ship to 'the Oasis of the Seas,' which will be launched in late 2010 by Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. An official of Seoul Semiconductor said, "It is of great symbolic significance that our products are used for the world's largest cruise ship. Our products are eco-friendly luminous sources with high efficiency that will contribute to expanding the base of LED lighting environments."
