Major LED packagers released financial reports for the first half of 2010

Taiwan major LED packagers revealed financial reports in the first half of 2010. Among the peers, Everlight ranked the first with after-tax net earnings of NT$3.7 per share. It scored NT$1.4 billion (US$43 million at US$1:NT$32) in after-tax profit over the first half of 2010, more than double the amount it made a year earlier.

Unity Opto came secondly, netting NT$2.15 per share, gaining 1.4 folds from the same half of 2009. It raked in NT$661 million (US$20 million) in after-tax earnings on revenue of NT$3.2 billion (US$101 million) in the first half of 2010. The revenue result represented a 118% increase year on year and constituted 81% of the total NT$4 billion (US$125 million). The company projects orders to grow 40-50% in the second half this year from the first half.

Harvatek and Bright Led Electronics Corp. came after, earning NT$1.13 and NT$1.02 respectively.

Harvatek reported after-tax net earnings of NT$120 million (US$3.7 million), or NT$0.61 per share, in Q2 alone, sending its net earnings for the first half of this year rising to NT$1.13 per share.

In the second quarter, Bright had after-tax net earnings of NT$166 million (US$5.1 million), spiking 3.75 folds quarter on quarter. The quarter earnings helped swell the company's profits for the first half of this year to NT$201 million (US$6.2 million).
