World's Tiniest LED Chandelier

British company Mineheart goes against the idea that bigger is better by releasing the world’s smallest chandelier, small enough to be installed inside a light bulb. Each candle is designed with ting LEDs and gives off a soft glow. Appropriately named after Thomas Edison, the King Edison pendant lamp is priced at GBP$480 (US$767).

Only three inches wide and two inches tall, the chandelier is made from brass with quarter inch tall LED candles all fit snug inside a hand blown glass bulb. When combined in a cluster, the King Edison bulb gives off a warm and romantic glow. For day to day activities however, it is advised to include additional lighting as the LEDs do not provide enough light to sufficiently light an area.

The chandelier is so tiny that 50,000 man hours are required to produce it. (photo courtesy of BNPS)

The King Edison lamp runs on 12V of power and hangs from a 7ft braided cable. The minds behind the lamp are Brendan Young and Vanessa Battaglia. Although the lamp is the world’s smallest chandelier, it takes almost 50,000 man hours to produce. The two designers are very excited and pleased with the response that the lamp has received. Most people don’t notice the chandelier straight away but when they do they get excited about the design.
