LED North America plans to cool LED light with graphite foam

LED North America has acquired a new technology that extends the life of light-emitting diode lamps from DOE's Oak Ridge National Laboratory. The firm plans to use the graphite foam to passively cool components in LED lamps. Cooling LED lamps is critical to increasing their efficiency, considering that each 10-degree decrease in temperature can double the life of the lighting components.

Nualight has developed a more energy efficient line of glass door lighting Porto 600, to step into the North America market at the Food Marketing Institute Energy and Store Development conference in Minneapolis this week.   With wattages for center mullions at 16 watts and end mullions at 8.5 watts, the Porto 600 line is one of the lowest energy usage LEDs on the market.

Imtra supplied its LED lighting to USA. Whaling Museum

Imtra has completed its sixty-four highly-efficient Imtra LED recessed down lights installation at the New Bedford Whaling Museum, America. Its 5.5W and Hatteras 3.2W LED lights were selected to replace 20-watt halogen lights within all of the display cases throughout the Link Gallery exhibit. It's estimated that the Imtra LED fixtures, with their minimum 50,000-hour illumination life, will not require replacement for over thirteen years.

SETI received a $475,000 award to develop all-LED water treatment

Sensor Electronic Technology, Inc.(SETI) has received a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase II award which is worth of  $475,000 from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to develop water disinfection units based on solid state deep ultraviolet LEDs.
