Eco Depot, Inc has added the new high lumen output 125 Watt high bay LED fixture ICE PIPE to their avant-garde product line of commercial and industrial LED Lighting solutions. The company said that the new low cost ICE PIPE is designed to replace conventional 250 to 400 Watt metal halide lighting fixtures, provide a superior light output and consume 70-80% less electricity.

Taiwan’s Amtran Technology announced that its partner US-based LCD TV brand Vizio had released five M series edge-type LED-backlit LCD TVs in Taiwan. The five new inventions including five models, which from 32- to 55-inch, and the price is NT$27,900 (US$871.48) for 32-inch, NT$32,900 for 37-inch, NT$42,900 for 42-inch, NT$52,900 for 47-inch and NT$83,900 for 55-inch respectively.

AU Optronics (AUO) expanded LED-backlit TV and monitor panels, TV panels cover from 24 -inch to 65-inch models, while monitor panels go up to as large as 27 inch. AUO noted that the proportion of LED-backlit Notebooks panels will be up to 100% at the end of this year. In addition, AUO is preparing for moving into 3D panels for TV, monitor and notebook. Cleveland City Council has approved a controversial plan to buy millions of dollars worth of LED lights for the city. The city will ask for bids from companies to provide the lights, in exchange for locating its plant here, but not everyone is sold on this idea. The city's mayor, Frank Jackson, previously attempted to make a deal with a chinese company for the exclusive contract in exchange for opening a manufacturing plant. However, the city council required that there be a competitive bidding process for the contract.

Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) will install LED system signs and requests a new tender with a cost of JOD 100.000, to import new LED traffic lights, said by the Director of Traffic Operations Department, Eng. Khaled Haddadeen. He noted that GAM has already tested the traffic lights on Al Rabiah sign (the intersection of Mecca Street and Saad Ibn Abi Waqqas Street, and 60~70% of the Capital's traffic lights, about 125 light signs, have already been replaced.

Sharp Corporation is following up its LED lamps with another mainstay of residential lighting by introducing six models of industry-first LED ceiling lights into the Japanese market. Using Sharp’s proprietary light diffusion technology, these ceiling lights achieve a thin design that is 43 mm at the thickest part and just 8 mm at the thinnest.

LG Display of Korea will show off a 31-inch OLED TV at the IFA show. LGD said the TV is the biggest of its type. LGD has not unveiled other details on the set, including resolution, thickness or price. Also on display at the event will be LG's 72-inch 3D LED TV and what is being described as the thinnest LCD TV, at just about 0.28 inches.
