AIXTRON SE today announced a new BM system order from the Institute of Metal Research (IMR) at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The contract is for a BM Pro PECVD system in a 4-inch wafer configuration, which will be dedicated to the production of carbon nanotubes and graphene. Philips has decided to cut 2,200 jobs at its lighting and electronic divisions to save €300m by 2014. Peterborough City Council has agreed a £2 million contract to replace street lights with LED lamps. The contract will see more than 4,500 bulbs replaced with LED lamps by Birse Civils.
