Limited, part of Sainoor Group from India , have entered into a marketing arrangement with Prolight Opto Technology Corp, a speciality LED packaging company headquartered in Taipei.

Cree, Inc. last week announced that the public offering of 11,000,000 shares of its common stock has priced at $35.50 per share for gross proceeds of $390.5 million. The offering includes a 30-day option for the underwriters to purchase up to 1,650,000 additional shares to cover overallotments, if any. Cree is conducting the offering pursuant to an effective registration statement under the Securities Act of 1933. The offering is expected to be completed on September 16, 2009, subject to customary closing conditions.

Aixtron AG announced today that Mitsubishi Chemicals headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, has ordered one AIX 2800G4 HT Planetary Reactor® system in the third quarter of 2009. OSRAM Opto Semiconductors released a new addition to its LED range: the Oslon MX ECE. This low-cost high-power ceramic component is intended for the front light clusters of mid-range vehicles – mainly as daytime running lights. This new LED is an important addition to OSRAM’s extensive product portfolio for the automotive sector.

Light-Based Technologies has developed an analog control circuit for a plurality of light sources. The company has been issued U.S. Patent No. 7,570,183 on August 4th, 2009 to protect this invention. According to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, the invention relates to "a system of generation of multi-channel analog output signals, from a single analog input signal, and the controlled activation of peripheral devices responsive to the multi-channel analog output signals."

Xodtec Group USA, Inc. announced today that its Apollo series 180W LED streetlight product line has recently completed testing at the National Lighting Test Center (NLTC) in Beijing, China.  The test report indicates that the total lighting lumen of Apollo series 180W LED streetlight is 9800lm with power factor 0.97, which makes this product one of the most efficient LED street lighting systems in the world.

Recently, Nobuki Kurita, president of Sony’s marketing unit in Japan indicated that Sony’s 2009 year-end LCD TV sales in Japan is expected to grow by 50% compared to the same period last year.
